The aim of this article called blackjack for beginners is to get you familiarised with the world of Blackjack as soon as possible.
Blackjack is a card game played by one or more players against the dealer. The players do not play against each other, but each player has to compete against the dealer.
So the object of blackjack is to beat the dealer’s hand without going over 21. This can be done in two ways:
- If you are dealt 21 from the start (Ace & 10), you got a blackjack, and you win.
- If you your card total is 17 points or more than the dealer, you win the game.
The dealer also might have a soft 17 hand, which is one that includes an Ace and any other cards whose combined value totals six points. The dealer will continue taking more cards, until the house’s hand either becomes a hard 17 or higher, or the hand goes over 21 and goes bust.
How Should You Play Blackjack?
To start playing, you must take a seat at a blackjack table. Then you will be asked to make a bet. Each blackjack table has a minimum bet and a maximum bet. You must wager at least the minimum amount and you may wager the multiple of this amount up to the maximum amount. It’s simple right?
After each player has made a bet, the dealer starts dealing cards. Each player starts with 2 cards, including the dealer. When everyone has been dealt cards, the action starts with the first player. The promotion normally consists of two options: take “hit” or “stand”.
