Sic Bo is a fun dice game that resembles games like roulette and craps. It is also often pronounced ‘See Bo’, literally translated pair of dice, but it is played with three dice. In Asia it is known as ‘Tai Sai’ (Dice luck) and ‘Dai Siu’ (Big and Small).
At first the playing table seems very complicated, but in fact Sic Bo’s rules are very simple. Three dice are thrown into a plastic cup and players are allowed to bet money on the outcome of the dice.
The total number of eyes of three dice can be viewed, but there are also other options. This way you can bet money on a specific total number of eyes of one or two dice. It is also possible to place a bet on a specific combination.
Each bet has a different payout and is based on the odds. The harder it is to predict something, the higher it pays. You can compare it to betting on roulette. We will explain all Sic Bo bets on this page so you can better understand the game.
The Different Sic Bo Bets
One Number
One number is a bet on a specific number on one of the three dice. The payout of this bet will depend on how many dice fall on this chosen number. It pays out 1:1. If two of the dice have the selected number, the bet pays out 2:1. If all three dice roll the number, the payout is 16:1.
Double
Double is a bet placed on two specific numbers. The player wins if two of the three dice are equal to the prediction. There are six possible bets and the payout is 11:1. If the third die also has the same number, the bet pays 31:1.
Triple
In a Triple bet you predict that all three dice are equal. It is the highest possible payout in Sic Bo. There are six possible bets and the payout is 208:1.
Big Small
Players are given the option to bet on the total of three dice. You can choose between the options Small (4 to 10) and Big (11 to 17). The payout for this bet is 1: 1 as it is one number.
